At The End of The Day

Oil landscape by Yorkshire artist Jo Sykes

“During a visit to an elderly and frail parent we walked for some fresh air on Flamborough Cliffs. We paused for a while as the sun started to seriously descend casting long shadows but also a golden veil over everything it still touched and made the waves glisten like diamonds.

The ‘end of the day’ can be anticipated but then suddenly arrive; it can be sad and diminishing, but also have moments of unexpected clarity and beauty. Sometimes the ‘end of the day’ seems to really slow down and almost stop for a final moment in that golden hour, inviting us to………. stop……… and see………. and wait.”
