Druid’s Seat

Oil landscape by Yorkshire artist, Jo Sykes

“Amongst all the many, many rocks on top of West Nab on Meltham Moor (which you don’t really appreciate from the road) is this set of rocks that made me think of a throne room. We HAD to scramble up to take a seat on the throne! I later found out that in some folklore it is called Druid’s Seat. We couldn’t linger for too long though as, from the west, dark clouds were rolling in, and sure enough, less than 5 minutes after getting back to the car, the heavens opened.”
