Long Ridge

Oil Landscape by Yorkshire artist, Jo Sykes

“ This view is from one of our rambles and scrambles among the huge rocks on top of West Nab, Meltham Moor, looking back towards Long Ridge. I was struck by the contrast of these monstrous rocks nestled amongst the soft, pink ‘Yorkshire Fog’ grass. On West Nab some of the rocks look like a giant had just tossed them about in one of his tantrums, but there they had settled for, probably, hundreds of years and would have many tales to tell. It was a lovely spot to pause and gaze across the moor.”
