Malham Cove

This pencil sketch is a view of the cove, half way up the steps on the left hand side. Well, you have to pause for breath climbing all those steps, but the view is fabulous! Using pencil allowed me to focus on the details in the rocks and grasses in the foreground whilst creating perspective in the distant hills. Working in pencil is a quiet, steady process and involves a lot of detailed looking at the view if en plein air, or at many different reference photos.

Original pencil sketch on cartridge paper, with sage green mount in a beech frame. Overall size 355 x 355mm.

£75, which includes packaging and postage within the UK or personal delivery within 15 miles of Huddersfield.
