“This painting is from West Nab, a rocky area of Meltham Moor, looking towards a part of the moor called Featherbed Moss. Two things immediately grabbed my attention – the very fine Yorkshire Fog grasses bending in the wind which really had a pinkish tinge, heightened by the low sun, and the massive rocks strewn about like a heavy weight contrast to the delicate grass, creating darker corners and stubborn shapes. In the distance is Marsden town.”
